The Ford Amateur Radio Club, the "Tin Lizzy Club", will be celebration our 50+ anniversary during the weekend of September 7-9th, 2007. The Special Event weekend will consist of the following:
Map to Saturday's Special Event Station: See the Lower Rouge Parkway sign. There is a parking lot off of Cherry Hill in Dearborn, between Military and Brady St, where we will be.
Our operating site: A screen tent provided by WA8HEA kept us cool and out of the late summer sun.
A closer view of the operating tent. The Tin Lizzy Club banner is flying, and we did get a few visitors.
Bill, WA8HEA is on the radio. Dave, N8HKU, is logging, and Bob, N8JUH, is supervising.
We borrowed John Mathy's generator, which quietly purred away to give us power.
Here was our primary antenna, a Cushcraft R7 vertical for 10-40M. A G5RV was strung up into the trees later in the day, but band conditions were not favorable for either antenna.
Roger, KD8CSE, brought along his trike. Here he is operating bicycle mobile on the HF bands!
